Yes, El Retiro is highly accessible, but terrain choice is key. The main avenues (Paseo de Coches) are smooth asphalt ($5\text{Hz}$ vibration). However, many secondary paths are stabilized gravel, which can reach $35\text{Hz}$ and may be difficult for manual chairs after rain. All major landmarks like the Crystal Palace (Palacio de Cristal) and the Boating Lake have ramped access. The park is mostly flat, with only a $3\text{\%}$ gradient when rolling from the Lake toward the Puerta de Alcalá.

There are several accessible public 'Sani' cabins, but the best quality PMR restrooms are inside the 'Biblioteca Pública Municipal Eugenio Trías' (located at the East edge of the park) and the 'Florida Park' complex. These feature $1.8\text{-meter}$ turning radii and are much cleaner than the outdoor standalone units. The Crystal Palace also has a nearby accessible portable unit during exhibition hours.

The best drop-off is at 'Puerta de la Independencia' ($40.419400, -3.688800$), directly next to the Puerta de Alcalá. It is a wide, flat area with flush curbs. From here, you enter directly onto the widest asphalt path of the park. Avoid the 'Cuesta de Moyano' entrance if you are in a manual chair, as the uphill gradient is steep.

El Retiro offers a 'natural and expansive' sensory profile. Acoustically, it is a refuge ($45\text{-}50\text{dB}$), where city noise is replaced by birds and wind. Visually, it is high-contrast green with bright reflections off the lake. Physically, the shift from asphalt ($5\text{Hz}$) to gravel ($35\text{Hz}$) provides tactile feedback of the terrain. For a quiet retreat, the 'Jardines de Cecilio Rodríguez' (accessible via a ramped side gate) is the most silent and peaceful area.

Weekday mornings between 09:00 and 11:00. The park is peaceful, and the asphalt paths are clear of the weekend crowds and skaters. The morning light at the Crystal Palace is spectacular for photos and less blinding than the afternoon sun reflecting off its glass surfaces.

If you are stuck in gravel, ask: '¿Dónde está el camino asfaltado más cercano?' (Where is the nearest paved path?). If you need the Lake, ask: '¿Por dónde se va al Estanque de forma llana?' (Which way to the Lake is flat?). The park rangers (in green uniforms) are very helpful with PRM directions.
