Tempelhofer Feld is arguably the most accessible public space in Europe. As a former airport, the terrain consists of massive, perfectly level runways and taxiways made of high-grade asphalt (0Hz vibration). There are zero steps, curbs, or inclines across the entire 300-hectare site. The main entrances are wide and level. It is a haven for wheelchair users, offering unlimited space for high-speed movement without the stress of urban traffic or narrow sidewalks. It is the perfect place to test a new mobility device or enjoy a high-torque roll.

There are multiple accessible 'Sani' containers located near the main entrances (Tempelhofer Damm, Columbiadamm, and Oderstraße). These are modern, wheelchair-accessible facilities with ramps and 1.5-meter turning radii. During the peak summer months, additional accessible mobile units are deployed. Because the field is so large, the expert tip is to use the restroom at the Tempelhofer Damm entrance before heading toward the center of the runways, which can be a 15-minute roll away.

The best drop-off is at the 'Tempelhofer Damm Haupteingang' (52.473550, 13.385450). This point is directly adjacent to the S-Bahn station and features a large, flat paved area where taxis can safely deploy ramps. This entrance leads directly onto the main runway, providing an immediate 0Hz experience. Avoid the Oderstraße entrance on weekends as it is extremely crowded with locals and can be chaotic for taxi access.

The field offers an 'infinite and airy' sensory profile. Acoustically, it is surprisingly quiet (45-50dB) because the wind carries sound away in the vast open space. Visually, the horizon is wide and unobstructed, which is very calming, but there is almost no shade, so the glare can be intense on sunny days. Physically, it is the smoothest experience possible (0Hz). For those who feel claustrophobic in the city, this is the ultimate 'reset' space with fresh air and a sense of total freedom.

Weekday mornings at 10:00. The field is massive, but on weekends it can be filled with thousands of kite-flyers and skaters. On a Tuesday morning, you will have the 2-kilometer runways almost entirely to yourself. The air is crisp, and the lack of crowds allows for a completely uninterrupted, high-speed roll across the asphalt. It is also the best time for photography of the historic airport building without people in the frame.

Because the field is so big, you might need to find your way back. Ask a ranger: 'Wo ist der nächste barrierefreie Ausgang zum Tempelhofer Damm?' (Where is the nearest accessible exit to Tempelhofer Damm?). If you need a restroom, ask: 'Wo ist die nächste behindertengerechte Toilette auf dem Feld?' (Where is the nearest disabled-friendly toilet on the field?). The field rangers (in green vests) are very helpful and often have maps for PRM visitors.
